Our philosophy is to make our database interfaces as user friendly and accessible as possible. To achieve this we work closely with the end users of the database and utilise good design practices that are informed by recognised standards, such as those of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) and the E-GIF framework. We concentrate on functionality and efficiency. We focus on producing a professional looking interface that incorporates intuitive navigation and clear and concise presentation of information.

database design & development

We take take a systematic approach to database development, working with our clients to identify and understand their needs and the scope of the database system they require. Just like architects develop plans for a building in consultaion with their clients before any building work commences on larger we utilise proven systems analysis techniques, such as the UML and Yourdon, to reach an agreed design for the system before we start its physical development.

Time spent at this initial design stage is time well spent becuase it helps to ensure that the developer and the client have a shared understanding of the system to be developed and in so doing reduces the risk of increasing development costs when fundamental changes are required late in a system's developent due to factors that were not identified at the planning stage.
